Still planning!
I'm still working part-time, but I have renewed my intention to get this done. I'm looking at being operational (not finished) by mid-2009 so I can be on the PNR Regional layout tour. I want to get there sooner so I can have fun. I will be having continued restrictions due to working for only this year (hopefully), then the contract should be over.
I'm currently focusing on designing the general benchwork and its supports. I'll be able to actually construct those as a standard design no matter what the track plan is.
I'm also working on the electrical and lighting requirements of the area. Currently, there are two 4-foot fluorescents and only 1 outlet in the area. The lights are on the same circuit as the rest of the shop area, so I need a new circuit or two.
Meanwhile, I'm getting a better visual concept of what I want to do. I need to create a "Givens and Druthers" list soon to help. I'm looking through some materials I've collected over time to see if my "dreams" have been done in a way that I coudl just incorporate them, but I suspect not. I've also got some reading to do to get teh whole lumber industry and interchange beter defined.
Anyway, my plan is to make some "progress" every week and report it here. 'Til next time.
