We've Got Backdrops Captain!

I had previously cut the backdrop masonite to 3 feet high but needed to cut 2 of the 3 pieces to shorter lengths. One (in the middle) is 6' 2", while the one on the far left is 3 feet.

I have never made scenic backdrops before, and whether to paint or use commercial photos was a toss-up. Paint is definitely cheaper and it was actually fun and fairly easy once I got started. I first painted the entire backdrop with a flat blue from Sherwin-Williams called Flyway. Then I used a flat white to paint the lower 1/3 or so, but not completely. The idea was to invoke an idea of haze.

If you'll notice a dark circle where the 2 left backdrops join, that's a screw and washer that I may not remove as it will be covered by the scenery. That is also where another backdrop will join that separates the main level from the upper level on this end. That's why the backdrop doesn't seem to flow from the others. That other backdrop probably won't be done until next year.
