Everything's Changed!

When I lived in Salem, Oregon, I was only going to be able to build a layout in my shop - a building with metal walls, etc. I spent several years and lots of money upgrading the building and I was installing the electrical when we moved.

I'm glad we did for many reasons but the main one for the layout is that I get a bonus room above the garage. It's a little smaller than the shop area but I think I can selectively squeeze the design down to fit.

The best parts, of course, are that is already heated, has A/C if needed, is insulated, and has painted walls. It's a ROOM!

I joined a local club that is only a few miles away so I can run trains while I build the layout.

I've already installed a desk, train computer setup, my test/programming track, and some other furniture for material storage and a table to use for building structures, etc. I'm now in the process of redesigning the benchwork for the new layout. I'll still be using the L-Girder method but nothing will be attached to the walls since I expect to move someday.

Lighting may need to be enhanced but I have can LEDs in the room that should light most of the layout. We'll see.

More to come!
