L-Girder Installation and More!

Over the last few weeks, I've been able to get the l-girders installed (and then moved a few) on all three walls. I also added 1x4 supports for the backdrop above them. See the L-Girders Installed photo.

In addition, I've attached the outlet boxes approximately equally-spaced along the walls. aren't installed the outlets themselves yet as I'm still running the wire to them. They are also visible in the above photo.

I recently decided to fix some light fixtures in the shop as I had 2 not lighting at all and 2 others with 1 dead bulb each. I was able to get the single bulbs to work just by twisting them a little and able to do the same with the one dead fixture. However, the last fixture was located above the track for the rollup door and difficult to access. In addition, I had to remove the table with my test track so I could get to it (as well as provide more room to work on the layout). Turned out that the fixture was indeed bad, so replaced it with another one I had in storage. I also tested 4 others that I had written off long ago and verified that indeed they were bad. I salvaged the chains and cut off the 5-foot cord from them and they are going to recycling.

I had noted previously that I wasn't sure what I was going to do for layout lighting. I'm still not sure, but I purchased some more LEDs to test. Meanwhile, I've decided that I want layout area lighting that is not layout wiring. In other words, I'm going to use the 2 fixtures currently under the loft for general lighting there, but I need to make them on a separate switch. I'm also going to have to move one of them and it won't reach the outlet it's currently plugged into, so I have to move that too. More electrical 😒. One step forward, 1.5 back.

I need to get back in there again, but one of my recent diversions was a complete remake of this website. Hope you like it. I'm still tweaking things here and there.
