One Large one down, 2 small ones to go!
As the title suggests, I finally finished the large south wall yesterday. I've now started on the east wall (8 feet long), and then will address the west wall (also 8 feet). The new wall is much more rigid than the original wall and that will make attaching the layout easier and more secure. See Rebuilt South Shop Wall photo.
The east wall will eventually go around some stairs (to the loft) later, but I won't need that for quite some time and it needs some additional design work first.
The west wall is pretty straight forward although the last support will be the one the links to a peninsula that will go to the center of the area and contain the logging operation.
Once these walls are built, I'm going to seal the underside of the loft stairs and then paint the ceiling (underside of the loft) a light blue to aid in light distribution. Then the electrical will be installed, followed by the backdrop (4x8 sheets of 1/8 inch masonite). The backdrop will attach to the new wall framework and be painted before any major layout construction starts.
